Axis Max Life Insurance, in association with Haqdarshak and Saaras Foundation in FY’24, touched the lives of over 59,000 citizens in Haridwar, East Singhbhum and Varanasi. Insurance Awareness & Financial Literacy leading to sustainable livelihood is a key component of the project.

The project tries to remove the major hurdles the citizens face while learning about the schemes and applying for these Government Welfare Schemes through Haqdarshaks – a trained cadre of women from the community who provide end-to-end field support until the citizen receives the benefits. The project leverages a tech platform with welfare schemes mapped in local languages.

A detailed Need Assessment Survey and citizen profiling determine a customised list of eligible schemes for each citizen. The impact we are creating is not limited to the scheme enrolment, which contributes to their family income and better living standard; it also leads to citizens becoming aware & having conversations about welfare schemes. They engage with government departments, which in turn provides a better understanding of their needs, resulting in effective inclusive policies.
